Seeking The Leadership of The Holy Spirit

September 1, 2009 by Deric

Sunday August 30,  2009

What makes people do extra-ordinary things?

BCC is moving forward in ministry by the Grace of the Almighty. Last Sunday was wonderful, there was serious prayers  and declartions by the christians to themselves and to the church as they enter the month of September. The service was coordinated by Ps Simon Njock who also led praise and worship with Sis Pamela. It was a wonderful praise time as the christians praised and thanked God for taking them through the month of August. There were a lot of touching testimonies from christians.  Four birthdays were celebrated in church.

The word for the day was by Ps Manga Joseph, he spoke on the theme “Seeking The Leadership of The Holy Ghost” (Romans 8:14).

Who is the man that is so hidden that can cause a change in your life? He is the Holy Ghost. People go astray because they dont know this person.

The holy Ghost is a person , he is the gaurantee of our eternal inheritance. He characteristics like;

-He is all k nowing  that’s to say he knows evrything about you and me. If you get him you will be all knowing too.

-He is emotional, that’s why with him in us we are joyful. He is also a worker so we don’t need to struggle when we have him. He is a distinguisher, a solution maker. we have to distinguish oureslves in all we do and he is the great distinguisher so we have deeply fall in love with him. Why sin overcomes us is because we dont know the person of the Holy Ghost. ( Gal;3.3, Romans;8.11).

Winning The War of Sin

September 1, 2009 by Deric

Sunday August 16,  2009

God is great.

By his power and grace the christians of BCC came together again last sunday to  worship,  praise and listens to Him speak words of  wisdom and directions into their hearts through his wonderful servants. The man of God for the day was Pastor Arung Bate he spoke on the theme “Winning The War Of  Sin”  From Romans 6. He gave some three things to fight this world of sin which were.

i) Knowing who we are . We really run away from the word sin and put other words, the way you persive sin is very propotional to the way you are close to God. The more we get to God the more he reveals to us where we are weak. We are not sinners because we sin we were born sinners. You are still a sinner till when you come to the cross because the blood has dealed with the sin. But the cross deals with the person in sin. When you come to the Jesus the old man dies and the new man comes forth. When Christ came to our lives it didn’t change it was exchanged. Rmns 6:6.

ii) We have to reconcile Rmns 6:7.  To reconcile means to always acknowledge the fact that we belong to Jesus, because  that’s what will cause you not to misbehave when you meet tempeting situations. We behave ordinary because we don’t recognice who we are and who you are will cause you to do what you do. In salvation there is a part we have to play to be saved. Christianity is practical. You must come to a place were you are not resisting you must flee.

iii) Lastly we have to render our all to Jesus Rmns 6:13. If am a Christian i have to agree that this body is not mine i was bought with a prize and I am His temple. Don’t be conformed to this world. You have to metamorphose from a caterpillar which is dirty and harmful  to a  butterfly which is clean and gentle  and sin will not have dominion over you.

What shows that you are a believer

August 10, 2009 by Deric

Last Sunday was  yet another day for the Christians of the B C C to come together in one spirit to praise the Lord Almighty. As usual there was an awesome time of praise and worship from the praise team comprising of sisters Enanga, Hannah, and Anita. Thereafter, there were some testimonies from Sis. Pamela about her exams; how God turned her situation round and gave her success Br Cyril also  testified about his American Visa and exam successes.

The choir then came on stage and sang to prepare hearts and minds for the word of God. The preacher for the day was Mr. Vincent.

The theme of his preaching was “What shows that you are a believer”.. he proceeded thus. “To show we are true ministers of God, we need to apply hard-work and spend sleepless nights working out lives of purity,  righteousness and love. He stated that there is nothing like the other part of “me” because a believer has to the righteousness both to left and to the right. Thus there is no “unrighteous part ” of a believer. .. The bible says you should bear fruits and fruits worthy of repentance (Gal:5). All of us are expected to bear fruits .. Its good to be born again but not enough to be born-again; but to bear fruits that will endure. To have faith is alright but useless if you have no good deeds because that’s what will impress the unbelievers and God.

Will it not be nice when believers start distinguishing themselves by having good deeds? How do you show you are a believer? By bearing fruits.

BCC Women at work

July 31, 2009 by Deric

The women ministry is an initiative of the women of the Buea community church. This is to have a way in which women can come together like a family to share ideas and get to grow in their various gifts of the spirit. This initiative was supported by all the leaders and Christians of the BCC so they went on after the support to do a formal launching of the group. This was on Sunday the 5th of July 2009. But before the launching there were some week long activities.

There were some activities which were held from Wednesday the 1st of July to Saturday the 4th prior to the launching proper on Sunday the 5th.

On Wednesday the women meet at the BCC auditorium and they had choir rehearsal and drew some plans for the launching for Sunday which included the budget for the day and all this was coordinated by Pastor Mrs. Marceline TINSHU.
Thursday was not a meeting day because it was the day for market preparations that is they all went to the market to do buying of foodstuffs for Sunday’s program.

Friday was another day of meeting at Bcc hall. This day they did the final rehearsals and also came out with the final program for Sunday all this still coordinated by the senior pastor’s wife.

Saturday was a wonderful day as the women went out for evangelism and massive distribution of invitations. They acme out in their numbers at about four pm that afternoon and went into the quarters to distribute the launching invitations and tell people about the love of Christ.

Sunday which was the deal day all started with a 9am service in the morning coordinated by Pas Arung Bate. The man of God who gave the message was Pas Manga Joseph. He spoke on the theme “crossing to the other side”. Which in detail he meant we should not wait for leaders to pursue us to do the things of the spirit that we should take up the challenge and cross over to the other side and I think this applied to the women because they are a good example to the whole church as they have taken the challenge to cross on to the other side. After the service the women stayed back and did some final preparation for the evening. And story continues with bigger pace in the evening.

BCC Womens’ Ministry Launched

July 31, 2009 by Deric

It all started at about 5 pm with an opening prayer from Mrs. Elizabeth Yeboah. She prayed and dedicated the occasion into the hands of the almighty.

Then was the introduction of the praise and worship team by the coordinator of the day Mrs. Catherine Arung. They were sis Eposi Lyonga and sis Delphine Wemei. Oh what a wonderful praise team they sang and the people thought they were in heaven. As they sang people felt the spirit of the Lord. After praise they led the congregation into wonderful time of worship in the presence of the Holy Spirit. All this lasted for about 40 minutes.

After that wonderful time the women for God went outside and they processed into the church as they match they sang a beautiful song formed by them talking about them. They processed right to the front of the church. There at the front they sang some two special numbers for the congregation. The way they sang almost beat the aroma choir. And I at one point of time thought it was some choir which has been existing for years now.

The next on agenda was animation by an acapela made up of some four boys who were invited by the women to add spice the occasion. They sang some very touching songs.

Oh oh oh what next? Some wonderful actress from the C4G came on stage and they did a play on “dorcas the generous one” taken from the bible in (acts 9:26). The women displayed and set the whole church into laughter. The play talked about a certain woman call dorcas who was very generous she always helped those in need. It then came to a point in time she was very sick and she died. Her death caused confusion in town so the inhabitants decided to called for apostle peter who prayed fro her and she came back to life and joy was restored back to the people. The drama had characters like; sis Delphine –Dorcas, sis Evelyne, sis Catherine, sis Eposi all who were the beneficiaries of Dorcas’ generosity and sis Susan Moki-the daughter of Dorcas etc.
After the drama the acapela boys animated while the offerings where collected. Thereafter the speaker of the day sis Masoh Vincent was introduced to the congregation. She went on stage and spoke on the theme “full of God’s works” (Acts 9:36-43, 1 Tim 5:5-10).she just concluded the story of the drama performed by the women.

Then was the turn of the group leader Mrs. Marceline TINSHU to read the speech of encouragement to the women from the senior pastor Genesis Tinshu who is currently in the USA. After the speech the leader introduced the different departmental heads in the group. As follows

  • Evangelism –Evelyne Ekoi
  • Prayer –Elizabeth Yeboah
  • Bible studies –Masoh Vincent
  • Socials –Delphine Wemei

Then were some words of blessing, encouragement, and prayers from Pas Manga and Njock.
Finally was a closing prayer from Pastor Alfred Wemei. And refreshment. The attendance was very interesting as we had 81 adults and 24 children that .

That was how the birthday party of the BCC Women for God went. We look forward to see a massive participation by the members to the growth of that new born baby.

July 31, 2009 by Deric

The leaders of BUEA COMMUNITY CHURCH once more decided to organize a three days retreat which was aim at increasing the spiritual well being of the BCC Christians . All this which started on Thursday 16th of July and ended on Saturday the 18th.

The program formally started on Thursday with the first session in the morning which was from 6:00 am to 7 :30 am. from 6 am there was a thirty minutes prayer and worship session coordinated by Ps Manga. after this part two of that day was a bible study time on the topic “PRAYER” this was coordinated by prophet Yeboah. He inspire the BCC Christians who were there as he taught them on the various types of prayers which are supposed to be prayed to God and the time which each prayer is worth it. So many Christians where blessed by the man of God’s teaching.so that was that for the morning session.

The evening session slated for 5pm started at the slated time with some thirty minutes of prayers and worship coordinated by sis Bridget Lekenka. Then was proceeded by the introduction of the first teacher for that evening Ps Simon Njock. He went on stage and taught on the topic “CALL TO BE FIRST WITH HIM”. He elaborated this with Scriptures from (mark 3:13) he taught the congregation that God call us for a purpose that we have been called to be with him first that we we belong to him and no spirit can take us away from him except we take ourselves away from him.Secondly he has a mission for all his called ones .

The next speaker who was Ps Manga spoke on the topic “STRATEGIC EVANGELISM OR THE HEARTBEAT OF GOD” . He taught on the various ways of carrying out evangelism and the various ways to approach somebody with the word of God . He tried to increase the evangelism skills of the Christians and that was that for day one.

Day two which was Friday began with same 30 minutes prayer in the morning from 6 am that was the morning session. There after was a teaching on the topic “RETREAT, QUIET TIME, MEDITATION, AND BIBLE STUDY” After that was the closing prayer and session on closed.

Session two for that day all started in the evening at 5pm with prayers , followed by teaching by Ps Manga on the topic “PRAYING IN THE HOLY GHOST AND SPEAKING IN TONGUES ” he taught with scriptures from (1cor 14:1,1cor 16:19) .after the teaching there was some serious encounter with the holy spirit by the Christians they spoke in tongues and some even God spoke to them and they spoke it out. Some laid flat on the floor just to worship the Lord Almighty it was very fantastic what the holy spirit did on that day he lifted people do different levels in spirituality. After that great time Ps Arung came on went on stage and spoke on the theme “WE ARE HARVESTERS” .He told all that there is a great field waiting for us to harvest and that we have to pray that God make us good harvesters . He prayed after that and the day ended with a closing prayer from sis Anita Atemkeng.

The last day had some change of program as compared to the other days that everything for the day started at 9 am .It all started with prayers and worship as usual then the first teacher for the day was introduced he was Ps Arung. He taught on the topic BE DISTINGUISHED ,. he taught for about one hour, after which he prayed for what he he had taught for to be applied to the lives of the Christians. Then the next speaker for the day was introduced on stage that was Ps Simon Njock he taught on the topic WORK IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD .After that powerful teaching was the final closing prayer and it all ended for the three days retreat at BCC.

The retreat was very interesting because it led to a massive spiritual growth of the people who made time to be there even though the population was not that many but the few who had time to attend gained something very wonderful. For the attendance it was not that massive because the highest attendance was 23 . But they have really caught the fire and all hopes is on them to extend it to those who were not there .

Healing Rain Crusade – Day 5

April 27, 2009 by

The praise on this fifth day took a different turn. Amazed at what God had doing in their lives, the people expressed excitement as they danced and sang praises to God. I believe they said, “for the grace of God poured down on their lives, they felt like returning praises unto Him.

Some song ministrations by Sr Hannah and the Aroma Choir paved the way for the word of God. Picking up the microphone and opening his mouth, preacher Manga ade J spoke emphatically on the “message of the cross and its effect on our lives,” drawing inspiration from Isa. 53:1-6. After the message, two young boys openly declare their willingness to follow Jesus, promising to abandon their old ways and press on the way of the cross. Many were held spellbound and wept bitterly as they picture the sacrificial Lamb of God painted on a rugged wooden cross who now reigns as King.

The sick were prayed for and the demonized liberated by the power of God. 145 adults and 39 children were in attendance this day.

Healing Rian Crusade – Day 4

April 25, 2009 by

Welcome to Day 4 of the Healing Rain Crusade and its a joy to abreast you of what took place. After declaring the meeting opened by Pastor Simon Njock, coordinator of the night, the choir went on stage to give some sweet numbers that took the people in glamorous dancing and this went on for about 20 minutes.

It is worth noting that a student from the university of Buea who has been attending the program since from the first day gave a testimony of what God had done in His life. He said this is his first crusade he had ever attended in his life and  that he has had a great change in his life, “I have been saved,” he declared and motivated all others especially his friends to turn to Jesus.

After the testimony, a hymn was sung to prepare the people for the word. Then the speaker, Manga Joseph Ade accompanied by his interpreter, mounted the stage. Barely some few minutes after, there was a serious downpour and blackouts. But this could not stop the preachers from announcing the good news to the people of Buea under the rain. It was marvelous as they preach on the theme why Jesus came on earth with the scripture taken from Luke 4:18. As they were preaching electricity  went off but they still continued. Souls were saved and he prayed for the sick and the demon oppressed.

The Senior Pastor closed the meeting giving the final blessings for the day. Even with the rain the attendance was encouraging as we had 59 adults and 36 children. We hope to see a better day 5.

Healing Rain Crusade – Day 3

April 24, 2009 by

The third day of the Healing Rain Crusade (HRC) started with an opening prayer by Pastor Arung who was the coordinator. The choir mounted the stage at 6:30 pm for to lead in praise and worship. Because of some electricity failure from SONEL, a generator was rented to help solve the problem so that we could at least have some light and sound for the singers and preacher. After singing some hymns, the “Aroma kids” presented a play entitled the “Lost Sheep” which was watch by the crowd with amazement of what little kids like them could do. After the sketch, the choir went on stage to minister some songs to prepare the people for the message.

Pastor Simon Njock, the speaker for the night preached on the title “Roll away the stone.” The man of God based his preaching on the book of John 11: 1-6. After delivering a sound word from God, 17 adults willingly surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ, accepting Him as their Lord and personal Savior. Despite the seizure of electricity at start, the crusade attendance was very encouraging as there were 117 adults and 32 children. We hope to see a better Day 4 ahead.
