My name is Genesis Tinshu and I am currently a student at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) in Dallas, USA. After leading Buea Community Church in Cameroon for 11 years, my wife and I felt God’s leading for further training in order to better prepare for the greater ministry challenge the Lord has for us and for the people of Cameroon and Africa. I had to make the difficult decision to leave my family behind in order to access this quality training at DTS.

The Family

The Ministry

In 2004 I led in the planting of Buea Community Church in the city of Buea. God has sustained the Church from then till now and the Church has been a tremendous blessing to the people of Buea and beyond. I also founded Helps International (HINT), than mainly impacts the community through practical ways such as IT, Health Education and Microloans.

The Call to Seminary

After resisting formal seminary training for long, I finally succumbed and started a 4-year Master of Theology (ThM) program at Dallas Seminary in January of 2016. I am due to graduate in 2020. However, due to financial constrains, I had to make the difficult decision of leaving my entire family in Cameroon to begin attending Seminary in the USA.

Pray For Our Needs:

1. Pray for Provision for my Family in Cameroon

   1. With my absence, it is a huge challenge for me to continue to provide for my family. I left my family with an IT business that was providing for the family (though with difficulty) but with recent political upheaval and internet shutdown in the country, the business is now closed.
   2. Pray for $500 per Month for lease and living expenses (lease, food, hospital, personal upkeep, etc).
   3. Pray for $2,200 per YEAR for School needs (fees, transportation, books, uniforms, etc)

2. Pray for the Church in Cameroon

   1. My wife is part of a team of 4 who are overseeing the work in my absence. The other team members are Claude, Paul and Valerie. Pray for the team for wisdom to lead and grace to keep everything in balance while I am away.
   2. Pray for provision of $300 per month for lease money and other needs of the Church.

3. Pray for Family Re-union

   1. Living separately is difficult and expensive. Pray that if the Lord wills, that He will provide for my family to join me here in the USA as soon as possible. This is becoming more and more necessary because of the political instability. Please pray that the Lord will provide the following:
      1. $300 PER PERSON for passport and visa processing for 5 people
      2. $1,200 PER PERSON for flight ticket for 5 people
   2. We serve a Mighty God! If the Lord chooses to accomplish this, the need is a drop in the ocean!

After Seminary

Upon completion of my seminary training, the plan is to return to Cameroon to continue with the ministry there. My ministry involves training Pastors and  leading Church Planting. The vision God gave me is to plant Community Churches that are in touch and in tune with the community, Christ-Centered, self-sustainable and self-multiplying. Pray with me that the Lord will raise a team of faithful ministry partners during my time at the Seminary in the US. I believe that when God gives an assignment, he also gives partners who will faithfully ensure the accomplishment of the assignment.
